‘Billie Eilish: The World is a Little Blurry’: Yet another music documentar­y. This one follows the sudden rise of teenage singersong­writer Billie Eilish, who went from creating music in her brother’s bedroom to scooping up an armload of Grammy awards in just a couple of short years. 150 minutes. ‘Night of the Kings’: Drama from the West African country Ivory Coast is set in a prison run by inmates, where a power struggle may soon ensue. 93 minutes. R (some violent material, language and nudity). Opens today in theaters; also available to rent via neonrated.com/virtual-cinema.

‘Safer at Home’: A thriller set two years into the pandemic when a wild online party makes the attendees’ homes more dangerous than anything going on outside. 82 minutes. Unrated. Opens today in theaters and on streaming services.

‘Tom and Jerry’: Everyone’s favorite animated cat-and-mouse team makes it to the big screen thanks to director Tim Story (“Ride Along,” “Barbershop”). ‘The Vigil’: Director Keith Thomas is getting recognitio­n for his feature film debut, a horror-thriller about a man who finds himself battling a demon while he’s in the middle of an overnight watch of a deceased member of an Orthodox Jewish community. 89 minutes. PG-13 (terror, some disturbing/violent images, thematic elements, brief strong language). Opens today in theaters and on streaming services.

‘The Violent Heart’: Small-town drama centers on the relationsh­ip between a young man who never fully recovered from a family tragedy and a high school senior. 107 minutes. Unrated. Opens Friday in theaters; also available on streaming services.

‘Wrong Turn’: In this horrorthri­ller, friends hiking the Appalachia­n Trail run into a strange group of people known as The Foundation. It’s written by Alan Mcelroy, who wrote the 2003 original but none of the sequels. And, reportedly, Matthew Modine makes an appearance with a battleaxe. 120 minutes.
