ROSALINDA CRISTINA MESA

December 3, 1950 - February 25,2021

Rosalinda (Rose) Cristina Mesa, 70, of Cabot, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021. She was born December 3, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Arturo and Lucia (Guerrero) Mesa. Rose was an amazingly strong and confident woman. Throughout her career, she always found time to build relationships that lasted beyond the work experience. Even through trials of raising her son as a single parent, including holding multiple jobs, Rose stayed focused on family and providing care regardless of her own struggles. In her later years, she found genuine love when she met her future husband, Louis Oana, in Hawaii. She was a loving grandmother that cherished and wanted the best for her grandchildren. Rose enjoyed reading, watching birds, George Strait songs and spending time with her animals.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Oana in December of 2020 and brothers, Arturo and Rudy Mesa.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Leonard Mesa, Leilani Ulu, James

Oana, Kaneala Oana, Priscilla Oana, Nelson Oana and Colby Rohan; twenty-two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister – Sylvia Mesa-ramon, her brothers Eddie Mesa and Raymond Mesa, and many extended family members and friends.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date in Texas. The family encourages donations in memory of Rose Mesa be made to the American Heart Association or Becky’s Hope Horse Rescue in lieu of flowers or plants. Arrangements by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
