ALICE NEWMAN

October 9, 1945 - March 21, 2021

Alice Wynell Newman entered into Heaven on March 21, 2021, age 75. Alice was born on October 9, 1945 in Jacksonville, Florida to John and Wynell Lunsford. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, Florida in 1963. She met Bill Newman at Murray Hill Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida while he was stationed at Cecil Field and was later married December 19, 1967. Alice and Bill then moved to Texas, settling in San Antonio. They raised two daughters, Stephanie and Robin. Alice worked at many banks and at the school office at Castle Hills First Baptist School. Alice was a warm, caring, and loving person. She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, loving Nana, and faithful friend. Alice will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Wynell Lunsford and her brother, George. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill Newman. Daughter, Stephanie Cuyler and husband Kevin. Daughter, Robin Klusmann and husband Brian. Grandchildren, Daniel and Jessica

Cuyler, Everett, Silas, and Adeline Klusmann. Brothers, John Lunsford and Robert Lunsford. Sister, Barbara Rushing. Sister-in-law, Joyce Whitis. And many cousins, nephews, and nieces. A celebration of Alice’s life will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2 pm. The service will take place at Mission City Church located at 2220 NW Military Hwy, San Antonio, Texas 78213. Please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mission City Church or to the Christian School at Castle Hills (formerly Castle Hills First Baptist School).
