San Antonio FC to restrict attendance to 3,200 fans
San Antonio FC will cap attendance at about 3,200 fans for home matches at Toyota Field, the club announced Thursday.
SAFC opens the 2021 campaign against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at 7:30 p.m. May 1 in San Antonio. Temperature checks and a mandatory mask policy are in place.
Johnson escapes; Mcilroy holds on
Bob Macintyre of Scotland gave the world’s No. 1 player all he could handle in the Dell Technologies Match Play in Austin. In fact, Dustin Johnson had to rally to escape with a tie.
Macintyre build a 2-up lead with three holes to play when Johnson birdied the 16th, and then tied the match with a tough 18footer.
Meanwhile, Rory Mcilroy kept his hopes alive by beating Lanto Griffin.
Bryson Dechambeau made a 25-foot birdie on the 14th hole, and then he took the lead when Kim missed a 5-foot par putt.
Jordan Spieth took a 2-up lead over Matthew Wolff to the 17th hole at Austin Country Club. And then Spieth didn’t finish either of the last two holes and had to settle for a tie.

Jimenez sidelined for 5-6 months
Chicago White Sox slugger Eloy Jimenez is expected to be sidelined for five to six months after rupturing his left pectoral tendon trying to make a play in the outfield during an exhibition game.
Jimenez needs surgery to repair the injury, putting his season in jeopardy. General manager Rick Hahn said the team will know more when he begins the rehab process.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL Oklahoma’s Kruger retires
Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger announced his retirement, culminating a 35-year career that included taking five different schools to the NCAA Tournament — with two of them reaching the Final Four — and more than 650 career wins.
Kruger, 68, led Florida to the national semifinals in 1994 and Oklahoma to the same spot in 2016. He is the only coach to lead five different programs to NCAA Tournament wins.
