SISTER BERNADETTE FOGARTY, CSB

Sister Bernadette (Liguori) Fogarty, CSB entered eternal life on Good Friday, April 2, 2021. She was born in Terryglass, County Tipperary, Ireland, on July 1, 1936. She entered the Congregati­on of the Sisters of Saint Brigid (Brigidines) in Ireland, and made her profession of vows on May 29, 1958, and came to San Antonio later that same year. Throughout her many years in ministry at Saint Paul and Saint Luke Schools in San Antonio, and in Wisconsin, she was involved as a classroom teacher, administra­tor, choir director, and piano teacher. She also ministered at Seton Home here in San Antonio.

Sister Bernadette is survived by her brother Michael and his wife Joan; her sister Phil and her husband Michael; nieces and nephews, grandniece­s and nephews, relatives and friends. She will also be deeply missed by her Brigidine Sisters, their Associates, and past-pupils, and especially by her music students.

The Brigidine Sisters, and her family, would like to extend their very sincere gratitude to the Sisters of Divine Providence and the administra­tion, nurses and staff of Mccullough Hall; Doctor Heller; her caregivers, Mary, Nancy, Yolanda, Patsy and Diane; for their loving care of Bernadette over recent years, and to Kindred Hospice for their care of her in her final weeks.

Visitation will take place at Saint Paul Catholic Church (350 Sutton) on Wednesday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m. Rosary, with Mass of Christian Burial following, will begin at 12:00 (noon) Masks and social distancing will be required at the church. At her request she will be cremated and interred in Ireland.
