Teen indicted in drive-by shooting
A San Antonio man has been indicted on a murder charge, accused in the drive-by shooting of a longtime friend in February, authorities said.
The case against Joan Francisco Paulino, 19, was among more than 250 felony indictments returned this week by two Bexar County grand juries, the District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
Paulino and two others were arrested in connection with the Feb. 3 shooting that killed Michael
Garcia-sanchez, 19.
His case will be prosecuted in the 226th District Court, Judge Velia Meza presiding. If convicted, Paulino faces up to life in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
Also indicted was Lamar Calvin White, 35, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and serious bodily injury stemming from a shooting on Jan. 30 involving a woman with whom he had a dating relationship.
White’s case is being handled by the prosecutors in the Family Violence Division and will be heard in the 379th District Court, Judge Ron Rangel presiding. If convicted, White faces up to life in prison.
In separate indictments, Greg Anthony Delgado, 35, was charged with aggravated assault against a public servant and possession of a deadly weapon in a penal institution.
Delgado was already in police custody Feb. 9 on unrelated charges when he was accused of using an improvised weapon called a shank on a peace officer in the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.
Aggravated assault of a public servant is punishable by up to life in prison. Possessing a deadly weapon in a penal institution is a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Delgado’s cases will be heard in the 226th District Court.
Grand jurors also indicted Seth Aldana, 21, on a charge of intoxication manslaughter. He is accused of causing a crash that killed Bertha Villegas on Oct. 21.
The case will be heard before Judge Jennifer Peña in the 290th District Court. If convicted of the second-degree felony, Aldana faces up to 20 years in prison.
