A 17-year-old was arrested Tuesday in connection with a shooting that prompted a west Bexar County High School to go under lockdown that day, court records show.

Kaleb Allen Rackley was charged with two counts of deadly conduct of a firearm. He is being held on $70,000 bail.

Bexar County deputies were called to the 12000 block of Victorian Oaks at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in response to reports of people in a sedan and SUV shooting at each other. As deputies responded, they received reports that one of the shooters may have run into the nearby Brennan High School.

The school went into lockdown as law enforcement cleared the school.

Deputies received information that Rackley was at his residence on Laurel Branch, about five miles from the shooting. They found a white Chrysler 300, which they believe was involved in the shooting, at the home.

A witness, who said he was in the Chrysler with Rackley during the shooting, told police that Rackley approached him in the hallway at Brennan earlier and told him that they were going to meet up with a group of boys who allegedly robbed Rackley weeks prior, an affidavit supporting Rackley’s arrest said.

The witness said that Rackley was driving the Chrysler as they followed a white SUV to Victorian Oaks. He said a person in the SUV started shooting at them.

According to the affidavit, Rackley got out of the Chrysler and shot back.

The witness said that when the shooting started, he climbed over the center console, exited through the driver’s side and ran into a wooded area nearby. He then jumped a fence and flagged down a man to call 911.

Investigators discovered that a garage door on a residence was damaged during the shooting. No injuries were reported.

Brennan was placed under lockdown for about an hour until law enforcement determined it was safe.
