Following a school-record season that ended with the program’s first state title game appearance, six Boerne football players were named to the Blue BELL/TSWA Class 4A All-state team, which was announced Wednesday.

Five Greyhounds earned first-team honors: seniors Jacob Mclaughlin, Braden Baize, Caleb Hamby and Houston Hendrix and sophomore Hutson Hendrix. Sophomore quarterback Jaxon Baize was a secondteam pick.

Mclaughlin, a member of the “Great Wall of Boerne” offensive line, made the team at center after grading out at 94 percent with 19 pancake blocks. Braden Baize was the team’s leading receiver with 70 catches for 1,297 yards and 22 touchdowns.

All six players previously earned a spot on the Expressnews All-area Football Team.

Pleasanton senior Jayce Krauskopf was also a secondteam selection, and Davenport senior Shastin Golden and Somerset senior Ayden Guerra were named to the third team.
