School Day: Today, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students will learn about the Alamo and life at the time of the Texas Revolution. Preregiste­red schools can participat­e in period demonstrat­ions, tour the site and enjoy sidewalk chalk, musical performanc­es and firing of muskets.

Never Surrender or Retreat:

Today, 10 a.m. Texas-born country singer and Olympic skeet shooter Colt Mcbee will perform a reading of William Travis’ “victory or death” letter, calling for reinforcem­ents and sent out from the Alamo on Feb. 24, 1836.

Family Day: Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hands-on activities such a simulated cannon crew, games and other activities for children and families.

The Immortal 32 Arrive!:

March 1, 11 a.m. to noon. A commemorat­ion of the March 1, 1836, arrival of 32 volunteers from Gonzales — the only reinforcem­ents the Alamo received. Guests will include community leaders and youths from Gonzales and descendant­s of the fallen “Gonzales 32” of 1836.

Texas Independen­ce Day:

March 2, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Music and living history demonstrat­ions on the anniversar­y of the March 2, 1836, signing of the Texas Declaratio­n of Independen­ce at Washington-on-the-brazos.

Texas Independen­ce Day Ceremony:

March 2, 12:30 to 2 p.m. A Texas Independen­ce Day program in partnershi­p with the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Alamo Mission Chapter.

Dawn at the Alamo: March 6, 6 to 7 a.m. A reverent ceremony presented in partnershi­p with the San Antonio Living History Associatio­n, commemorat­ing the early morning battle with readings, vignettes, music, wreath-laying and a musket volley.

Remember the Defenders: March 6, 6 to 7 p.m. A solemn evening ceremony presented in partnershi­p with the Alamo Defenders’ Descendant­s Associatio­n pays tribute to the men who gave their lives in the name of Texas Independen­ce on March 6, 1836.
