history of the world, Part II Hulu

Over 40 years after a sequel to Mel Brooks’ 1981 comedy “History of the World, Part I” was teased, fans finally get it in the form of this eight-episode series led by Brooks, who is also a writer and executive producer. As with the original film, each installmen­t of this comedy features a variety of sketches that offer hilarious takes on different periods of human history. Leading the cast with Brooks are co-writers Wanda Sykes, Nick Kroll and Ike Barinholtz. Also appearing will be a large ensemble of actors, including Jillian Bell, Danny Devito, David Duchovny, Johnny Knoxville, Emily Ratajkowsk­i, Seth Rogen, Sarah Silverman, J.B. Smoove, Taika Waititi and many more. Two new episodes are available daily starting today through this Thursday, March 9.

The drama starring Angela Bassett and Peter Krause as emergency responders in Los Angeles returns with new Season 6 episodes tonight.

cool hand luke MOVIES!, 7 p.m.

Paul Newman gives one of the defining performanc­es of his career, and cemented his place as a beautiful-rebel screen icon, with his Best Actor Oscar-nominated role as stubbornly tough and independen­t Lucas “Luke” Jackson in this famed 1967 prison drama. George Kennedy took home a Best Supporting Actor Oscar as Dragline, the brutal chain-gang boss who tries to beat loner Luke’s cool out of him in this film’s classic rebel -against-the-system story. The movie is filled with iconic moments like the hard-boiled-egg-eating contest, and lines like Strother Martin’s sadistic prison officer, the “Captain,” stating, “What we’ve got here is failure to communicat­e.” “Cool Hand Luke ” certainly does not fail to communicat­e its message, or to entertain, after nearly 60 years.

The Voice NBC, 7 p.m.

Season 23 of the singing competitio­n brings on two new judges — Grammy-winning artist/songwriter/producer Chance the Rapper and singer-songwriter/multiinstr­umentalist Niall Horan. They join returning judges Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton, who is leaving “The Voice” after this season. “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while,” Shelton said of his decision to step away. “It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years. … This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home for me.” Reba Mcentire will serve as Mega Mentor for this season.

Fantasy Island Fox, 8 p.m.

Marie Osmond guest-stars as a country music star who fantasizes about being anonymous so she can focus on finishing her next album in the new episode “Walk a Country Mile.”

Perry Mason HBO, 8 p.m.

When the scion of a powerful oil family is murdered, Perry, Della and Paul find themselves at the center of a case that will uncover far-reaching conspiraci­es and force them to reckon with the true meaning of guilt. Matthew Rhys, Juliet Rylance and Chris Chalk star.

rock the block HGTV, 8 p.m.

The stakes will be raised to an all-time high as four teams of HGTV’S powerhouse experts prepare to face off in a renovation in Berthoud, Colorado. Craftsman and design expert Ty Pennington is back to host the new season. Competitor­s will include renovation hotshots Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (“Renovation Island”); deluxe design experts Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle (“Luxe for Less”); farmhouse fanatic Jonathan Knight and high-end residentia­l designer Kristina Crestin (“Farmhouse Fixer”); and house-flipping expert Page Turner and contractor extraordin­aire Mitch Glew (“Fix My Flip”). Each team will have just six weeks and a budget of $250,000 to renovate identical properties situated in a rustic Colorado landscape and morph them into luxurious homes that reflect their signature vision and stunning design.

This three-part docuseries (all episodes airing back-to-back tonight on ID) reveals the untold story behind the fall of former

Subway sandwiches spokesman Jared Fogle. In 2015, Americans who had been charmed by Fogle’s persona and inspired by his story of overcoming obesity through a Subway diet were stunned when authoritie­s brought multiple charges of child endangerme­nt against him and his business partner, Russell Taylor. “Jared From Subway” delves into the investigat­ion that finally exposed Fogle’s true nature as a child sex predator.

The Good doctor ABC, 9 p.m.

This backdoor pilot for “The Good Lawyer” has Felicity Huffman (time for the college admissions scam served!) as counsel hired by Dr. Glassman (Richard Schiff) to help Shaun (Freddie Highmore) in a legal tiff. He prefers Joni Degroot (Kennedy Mcmann, “Nancy Drew”), a crackerjac­k with OCD.

rain dogs HBO, 9 p.m.

This dark comedy series is the unconventi­onal love story between a working-class single mum, her 10-year-old daughter and a privileged gay man. Daisy May Cooper, Jack Farthing and Ronke Adekoluejo star.

history’s Greatest of all Time with Peyton Manning History, 9 p.m.

Host Peyton Manning and various experts count down the 10 greatest daredevils in history, a list of names that includes the likes of Chuck Yeager, Johnny Knoxville, Harry Houdini, Evel Knievel and more.
