Suspects charged in 21 burglaries in Kyle
Four people, including two juveniles, are accused of stealing from 21 vehicles during a burglary spree in Kyle.
Eduardo Steven Telule-oviedo, 17, and Naomi Davis, 18, are charged with multiple counts of burglary of a vehicle, theft and engaging in organized criminal activity, according to the Hays
County Sheriff’s Office. Two juvenile offenders were also charged, though the sheriff ’s office did not identify them.
On Dec. 26, deputies said, Telule-oviedo and Davis, of Austin, traveled to the Kyle and Buda areas and broke into multiple vehicles, from which they stole firearms and bank cards.
Some of the stolen vehicles were targeted because the owners left the keys inside, the sheriff’s office said. Those vehicles were recovered in Austin.
The Hays County Sheriff ’s Office cited a Jan. 4 incident as key in the investigation. On that day, Hays County deputies attempted to stop a silver SUV speeding in the Dripping Springs area. While the driver evaded deputies, investigators determined that the vehicle was stolen in Austin and used in a separate burglary spree involving Telule-oviedo and a juvenile girl in Hays County.
Telule-ovideo’s bail totals $10,500. Davis’ bail totals $5,000.
The sheriff ’s office asks people to lock their vehicles and to not leave firearms or keys inside. If a vehicle is burglarized or stolen, the owner should report it to local law enforcement as soon as possible.
Sheriff Gary Cutler said several community members provided video evidence that helped solve more than 20 criminal cases.
