Charles Harrison Marcus, aka HANK to the gaming world, was born on a drizzly Saturday, September 25th, 2010, and every day after has been filled with sunshine. Harrison was a curious and thoughtful toddler who grew into an incredibly smart and kind human being. He had his dad’s baby blues and his mom’s silver tongue… a killer combination. While his confidence and vocabulary got him into a little trouble, his puppydog eyes and dimples expunged the record fairly quickly. He was a natural athlete, starting with tennis, T-ball and an infamous half-court shot in peewee basketball before moving on to snow skiing, golf and ice hockey. Harrison rocked the schoolyard with his affable nature and sense of humor. He was a proud Parish Panther and member of the Class of 2029. Harrison had his faults-- he only ate the tips of asparagus, he hogged the corner of the family sofa and he did not share desserts. He hated mushrooms, Band-aids, his mother’s singing and kissing in movies. He loved his parents (equally), his dog Finn (even though he wanted a snake), his nanny Amy, his cousins and other extended family, his best friend Jake and a good April Fool’s joke. Harrison never complained through three and a half years of horrendous cancer treatment and two stem cell transplants. Instead he demonstrated his resilience and competitive spirit by applying his talents to gaming, including helping his Valorant team take second place at the 2022 XP League North American Finals. He was loving and optimistic every day. Harrison was an exceptional son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He will not be forgotten by anyone who knew him. Harrison was clear he wanted to pass in his gaming chair having achieved a Fortnite Victory Royale with twenty kills. We expect he is setting up a Twitch gaming stream in heaven right now… without parental controls. We love him profoundly and will miss him always. Life will not be the same without him. Harrison is survived by his parents, Courtney and Andrew Marcus, his loving grandparents, Sally and Gerry Solcher and Susan and Herb Marcus, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and godparents from California to Connecticut and Texas in between.

The funeral service will be held at 4p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the Church of the Incarnation, 3966 Mckinney Avenue, Dallas, Texas with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please hug a loved one for 20 seconds or consider a donation to Bertaina Lab at https://med. stanford.edu/bertainalab. html, DKMS or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Harrison’s name. He would appreciate either or both.
