Arizona outlasts Utah in triple overtime

SALT LAKE CITY — Pelle Larsson had 27 points and eight assists to lead No. 8 Arizona to a 105-99 victory over Utah in triple overtime Thursday night.

Caleb Love added 19 points and 10 rebounds to help the Wildcats (18-5, 9-3 Pac-12) earn their third road win in conference play. Keshad Johnson had 17 points and Kylan Boswell scored 16. Oumar Ballo grabbed 16 rebounds to go with 10 points.

Branden Carlson led the Utes with 27 points and 15 rebounds. Keba Keita had 18 points and Gabe Madsen added 17. Deivon Smith finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

After rallying from a double-digit deficit, Utah (15-8, 6-6) could not overcome 10-of-21 shooting at the free-throw line.

UAB 76, NO. 20 FAU 73 (OT)

Yaxel Lendeborg had 17 points and a season-high 21 rebounds, and Efrem Johnson made a big 3pointer in overtime to lift the host Blazers over the Owls.

It was the second victory for UAB (15-8, 7-3 AAC) against a ranked American Athletic Conference opponent in less than two weeks. The Blazers also beat then-no. 19 Memphis on Jan. 28.

Florida Atlantic had a chance to tie it, but Johnell Davis missed a contested 3 in the final seconds. The Owls (18-5, 8-2) fell a game behind league-leading South Florida in the standings.

Eric Gaines had 16 points, seven rebounds and eight assists for UAB. Christian Coleman and Johnson scored 14 apiece, and Alejandro Vasquez added 13 points.

Davis led Florida Atlantic with 17 points, 11 rebounds and five assists despite 5-of-21 shooting.

Women

TEXAS A&M 72 MISSISSIPP­I 53

In Oxford, Miss., Janiah Barker scored 21 points, and Lauren Ware added 20 as the Aggies (16-6, 4-5 Southeaste­rn) pulled away in the third quarter.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Texas A&M.

Elizabeth Kitley had 25 points and 13 rebounds as the visiting Hokies (19-4, 10-2 Atlantic Coast) earned a season sweep of the Wolfpack (20-3, 8-3).

Milaysia Fulwiley scored 19 points, Chloe Kitts had 12 points and five blocks and the host Gamecocks (22-0, 10-0 SEC) handily won their first game without leading scorer Kamilla Cardoso, who is trying to qualify for the U.S. Olympic team.

Hannah Stuelke scored a career-high 47 points, and Caitlin Clark had 27 points for the host Hawkeyes. Clark now has 3,489 career points, moving within 38 points of NCAA women’s basketball career scoring leader Kelsey Plum.

Clark, who was 8 of 23 from the field, had 15 assists to record her 56th career double-double.

Cotie Mcmahon had 13 points and nine rebounds, Jacy Sheldon shrugged off a tough shooting night with 12 points and six assists, and the Buckeyes (20-3, 11-1 Big Ten) won their 10th straight game.

Nyla Harris had 19 points and 10 rebounds, Sydney Taylor added 13 points including a key 3-pointer in the fourth quarter, and the host Cardinals (20-4, 9-2 ACC) held off the Fighting Irish (17-5, 7-4) to spoil Hannah Hidalgo’s 30-point, record-breaking night.

Hidalgo set the Notre Dame freshman record for most points in a season on a fast-break layup early in the third quarter. Her seven steals for the Irish gave her the ACC record for most steals in a season by a freshman.

NO. 13 LSU 85 VANDERBILT 62

Angel Reese had 15 points and 16 rebounds and Aneesah Morrow had 13 points and 10 rebounds in a balanced LSU attack as the Tigers (20-4, 7-3 SEC) used a quick start to beat the Commodores (17-7, 4-6).

Flau’jae Johnson had 17 points to lead LSU, which had a season-high in second-chance points and offensive rebounds.

Iyana Moore scored 17 points for Vanderbilt, which has lost five straight.
