Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS® Names Jenny Ohnstad as Vice President of Risk Management
The Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS® (SDAR) is pleased to announce that Jenny Ohnstad has been named Vice President of Risk Management.
In her role, Ohnstad will lead the Risk Management Department to strengthen the already market-leading initiatives to provide even greater services to members, while working with the Risk Management Committee to complete existing initiatives and improve processes.
As the largest REALTOR® association in San Diego, SDAR members depend on risk management tools and strategies to protect their future success by minimizing the risk of costly litigation, disputes, and damaging ethics violations. The department also oversees the publishing of Risk Management Forms designed to give REALTORS® additional ways to manage and reduce legal risk. Many of these forms have been created by SDAR and are exclusive to members.
Ohnstad has 20 years of operation and risk management experience in the multifamily housing industry. Prior to joining SDAR, she was a Risk Manager for MG Properties group for seven years, directing all risk management activities of 21,000plus apartments across five states.
While at MG Properties, Ohnstad also oversaw the company’s Safety Police Task Force to identify and minimize emerging company risks and concerns, as well as advising senior leadership on all legal matters and potential risks while providing strategies for minimizing the company’s losses.
“We are excited to welcome Jenny to the leadership of SDAR,” said Michael Mercurio, Chief Executive Officer of SDAR. “Our risk management services are a significant value to our members, and her years of experience in risk management will contribute to SDAR’S mission to provide our members with the tools and support to comply with high standards expected of REALTORS® and help protect and grow their business.”
