Bodhi Tree hosts ‘Pinafore’ singalong
club at a progressive high school is thrown into chaos when a scandal breaks out online. The musical will be directed and designed by Jared Mezzocchi, with musical direction by Ian Brandon.
Skyler Sullivan, Diversionary’s director of arts education and outreach, said he’s excited to welcome back Yan, who performed his solo show “Queer Heartache” at Diversionary in 2018. Sullivan described “Cancelled” as a “fresh new look on a relevant theme.”

Cygnet to stream two past productions
Cygnet Theatre has announced plans to stream filmed performances from two of its past productions.
Kate Hamill’s comic adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice,” produced at Cygnet in May 2019, will be available for streaming Monday through next Sunday. And Cygnet’s 2009 production of Becky Mode’s solo comedy “Fully Committed” will stream Oct. 12-18. Actor David
Mcbean won a Craig Noel Award from the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle for his performance in the fast-paced comedy, in which he played a harried Manhattan restaurant reservations clerk and 40 other characters.
Streaming tickets to both shows are $20 each and can be purchased at cygnettheatre.com.
Bodhi Tree Concerts has announced plans for a quarantine version of its annual community singalong this month. At 4 p.m. Sept. 20, professional singers will be joined by community singers in a performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s 1878 operetta “H.M.S. Pinafore” on its Facebook page.
Audience members can prepare for the performance by downloading the score and instructions on how to pre-film and send in their own sung segments from the score by visiting bodhitreeconcerts.org/ hmspinafore.
