Through Oct. 4 TEMECULA Plein air competition
The city of Temecula is inviting local artists to participate in the 13th annual Ralph Love Plein Air Competition through Oct. 4. Artists are invited to paint from three locations: Old Town Temecula, Temecula Wine Country or city of Temecula parks. To qualify for judging, canvas submissions must be stamped between Sept. 24 and Oct. 4; stamps are available from the Temecula Valley Museum by calling (951) 694-6455. Entries are tentatively scheduled to be displayed in The Gallery at The Merc from Nov. 4 through Jan. 2. Apply online at temeculaca.gov and register for activity #9030.201. Cost is $30. Sept. 30 TEMECULA Health & Wellness Fair
The city of Temecula will host a free Drive-thru Health & Wellness Fair from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 30 at the Mary Phillips Senior Center parking lot, 41845
Sixth St. Participants will pull a map and follow signage to different vendor booths along the route. There will be free blood pressure and glucose screenings, health information, dental hygiene kits, giveaways, prizes and more. The Interfaith Council of Murrieta and Temecula Valley is accepting nominations for its third annual
Humanitarian Awards, planned for November. Deadline for submission is Sept. 30. Nominees may be an individual of any age, youth group, not-for-profit organization, business, faith-based organization, or governmental entity. National service programs are not considered unless there is strong local participation. The IFC is looking for nominees who exemplify its objectives: cooperation, equity, unity, respect, compassion, dignity, human rights, and justice. Ongoing VALLEYWIDE Blood donations
Donations of blood and plasma are critically needed for patients throughout the region. Lifestream continues to host mobile blood drives at various locations as well as collections at its regular locations. Face coverings are required of all donors, regardless of location, and all potential donors are subject to a temperature check and COVID-19 symptom review before admission to the donor waiting area. All donations are tested for the presence of COVID-19 antibodies. The Murrieta donation center is a 40365 Murrieta Hot Springs Road, and is open seven days a week; hours vary.
