The La Jolla Symphony & Chorus will kick off its 2020-2021 season with “California Dreamin’,” a virtual gala with entertainment and fine dining. The 13th annual gala, scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 17, will benefit the artistic mission of the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus and its young artist performance and composition programs. The La Jolla Symphony & Chorus is San Diego’s oldest and largest community orchestra and chorus, a nonprofit musical performing group with a 90-person orchestra and 100person chorus.

The event, which is the organization’s premier annual fundraiser, will include silent and live auctions. The evening will also feature performances by Cecil Lytle, Stephanie Weaver and the chorus, as well as some surprise guest appearances. An elegant three-course meal created by San Diego chef Deborah Scott, along with a choice of three different wine selections, will be delivered to guests’ homes.

Ticket options range from pay-what-you-want to $175 for individual tickets or $1,500 to $1,750 for tables of 10. Virtual table sponsors will receive access to the VIP cocktail reception with music director, Steven Schick, chorus director Ruben Valenzuela and musicians from the ensemble. The auction and entertainment link will be free.

RSVP for dinner and the VIP event by Monday. To receive the free link to the auction and entertainment, RSVP by Oct. 14. For information and reservations, go to lajollasymphony.com or call (858) 534-4637.
