Clinic offers free dinner seminars on reversing Type 2 diabetes

-

Advanced Functional Medicine has scheduled free dinner seminars to discuss how patients have reversed Type 2 diabetes and improved their health.

During this fall and winter, addressing the root cause of chronic issues is especially important, said Matthew Willis, the clinic’s founder and director and a doctor of chiropractic who is certified to treat conditions in a holistic and natural manner. “COVID-19 affects diabetics worse than other populations,” he said.

The facility claims that its program can eliminate the need for medications, such as Metformin, Glipizide, statins and even insulin injections. Co-owner Dr. Sonia Mohan, noted that functional medicine addresses the underlying cause of a disease as opposed to using medications that only mask symptoms.

Advanced Functional Medicine, based in Sorrento Valley, recently was voted a Favorite Medical Group in the 2020 San Diego’s Best Union-tribune Readers Poll. Willis was also included in the 2020 “Marquis Who’s Who in America” for his contributions to the functional medical field, including his online book "The Truth About Type 2 Diabetes.”

The next free dinner seminar, which is for one person with diabetes and a guest and is limited to 10 people, is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Romano’s Macaroni Grill at 202 E. Via Rancho Parkway in Escondido. Additional dinners are scheduled in Escondido, La Mesa and Temecula through Nov. 4. Go to advfunctionalmedicine.com/seminar-calendar to reserve a spot. Free one-on-ones by phone with Willis are also being offered until Oct. 21.
