Building Industry to Salute Excellence and Innovation at R.I.S.E. Awards Oct. 29
The Building Industry Association of San Diego County (BIA) is celebrating the exceptional Resilience, Innovation, Success and Excellence (R.I.S.E.) accomplished by members of the building industry during the Covid-19 pandemic with the R.I.S.E. Awards, a virtual recognition event on Oct. 29 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
“Like industries throughout the country, the local building industry faced unprecedented challenges this year during the pandemic,” said Borre Winckel, BIA president and CEO.
“Companies were confronted with supply shortages, shut-downs, and new safety protocols, in addition to concerns about employees’ families. They had to pivot and innovate at every juncture, even though the building industry was deemed an ‘essential industry.’
“To celebrate and honor the extraordinary innovation and efforts of builders and their trade partners who rose to the challenge, we have initiated the first – and we hope only – R.I.S.E Awards,” said Winckel.
“I also applaud the BIA’S Sales and Marketing Council for spearheading this event,” he added, noting that there have been more than 100 nominations in 17 categories.
Categories include sales and marketing, trade professionals, individuals and teams, projects, architecture and interior design.
The R.I.S.E. Awards has attracted numerous sponsors from throughout the industry. The San Diego Union-tribune is the prime sponsor. Other major sponsors include the presenting sponsors, Buy New Homes San Diego, Christian Brothers Interiors, Loan Depot, and Millenia; and the cohosts Crosscountry Mortgage and New Homes Now Selling.
Tickets to the R.I.S.E. Awards are available to the public at the BIA website, biasandiego.org. Admission costs $20 for BIA members and $40 for nonmembers. Login details will be sent prior to the event.
The BIA of San Diego represents nearly 800 companies that plan, design and build the many places where San Diegans live, work and play. Members of the BIA generate thousands of jobs in the greater San Diego region and together are one of the most important driving forces in our local economy.
