Malissa Maureen Giammaria

1970 - 2021

-

OCEANSIDE — Malissa is the treasured wife to Dominic and mother to Zoe and Maeve.

She is survived by her parents, Dan Mcduffee and Patty Mcduffee Esch; and four siblings, Matthew, Mitchel, Meegan, and Mack Daniel, all residents of Oceanside; also Dominic’s parents, Bill and Phong Giammaria and Dominic’s two brothers. Bill, Jr., and Tommy.

Malissa was beloved by all, including many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Malissa was raised and went to school in Vista, and was an active 4H club member raising goats and guide dogs. She was also in the first graduating class of Rancho Buena Vista High School.

Malissa was interested in photography and journalism. Happily married to Dominic, her interest grew with her family. She was a devoted Homeschool Mom to her daughters, Zoe and Maeve, and most recently managed Fielday, LLC, a tour coordinating company.

In 2019, Malissa was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer, and although in remission, she had spent the last two years struggling to recover from the effects and aftermath. Her passing was unexpected and heartbreaking.

Malissa’s name means Honeybee. In life, she was the busy worker bee devoted to not only taking care of the needs of her own family but all her siblings and friend’s children as well. Malissa was always a behind-thescenes “make it happen” person. Her home and heart were open to all. Those of us who knew her can say we are who we are as a result of being part of her life.

Malissa will be gravely missed and has impacted all of our lives.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.”

May you Rest in His Devine Peace and Joy, Malissa.

Celebration of Life Service on April 10, 2021 at 1:00 PM, North Coast Calvary Chapel, 1330 Pointsettia, Carlsbad CA 92011.
