Judy Carol Calegari

November 12, 1955 - December 8, 2020

SAN DIEGO — On Tuesday, December 8, 2020, Judy Carol (Thogmartin) Calegari, loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away at the age of 65.

Judy was born on November 12, 1955, in San Diego, CA, to Joe and Marlene (Shaplin) Thogmartin. Upon graduating from El Capitan High School in 1973, she served in the U.S. Air Force for four years before beginning her fulfilling career as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA until her retirement in 2006.

Upon retirement, she enjoyed traveling around the world, golfing, bicycling (including a century ride through Lake Tahoe), and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid crafter, decorator and loved to garden. She was on several social

committees facilitating events for organizations such as Shadowridge Country Club in Vista, Brother Bennos of Oceanside, Bichon Rescue of Orange County, and most recently, the Lodge at Four Seasons in Murrieta, CA. She volunteered hours of her time helping others connect and socialize.

Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph; her father, Joe; her mother, Marlene; and her husband, Jim.

She is survived by her children, Rob and Jenna; her four grandbabies; siblings, Sharon, Mike, Tim, Ann, and Art; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Judy will be greatly missed as she was a source of light and hope to so many, and in her honor, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
