Padres 4, Dodgers 4

- KEVIN ACEE

Batter’s box: Webster Rivas, a 30-year-old catcher who has played 10 season in the minor leagues, tied the game by driving in two runs with a two-out single in the ninth inning. … Fernando Tatis Jr., Wil Myers, Tommy Pham, Jake Cronenworth all had singles in their three times to bat. Pham also walked. … Jorge Mateo, who is fighting for what might be just one available roster spot, was 1-for-2 to improve his batting average to .324 and his on-base percentage to .422 in a team-high 45 plate appearances. … Manny Machado’s first two at-bats resulted in infield singles. Both balls were bobbled, and one was originally ruled an error. … Luis Campusano doubled.

Balls and strikes: Facing a good portion of the Dodgers’ regular lineup, Ryan Weathers struck out six and allowed three runs in three innings. … Emilio Pagan continued working toward being the team’s primary closer to start the season, striking out all three batters he faced. … Right-hander Nabil Crismatt, a 26-year-old right-hander who allowed three runs and struck out eight in 81⁄3 innings for the St. Louis Cardinals last year, continued to work his way into consideration for a bullpen role. The non-roster invitee struck out the side on 16 pitches in the eighth inning, so the Padres decided to have him pitch the ninth as well. He surrendered a two-out double before getting his fourth strikeout to end the inning. Crismatt has allowed three hits and struck out 11 in eight scoreless innings this spring. … Dan Altavilla allowed a home run to Chris Taylor and has surrendered a run in five of his six appearances.

Extra bases: Cronenworth probably had an infield single with the bases loaded in the third inning, but the umpire called him out after a long throw from the hole by Dodgers shortstop Gavin Lux that ended the inning. Replays appeared to show Cronenworth was clearly past the bag when the ball arrived.

On deck: Blake Snell is scheduled to make his fourth start of the spring, 1:10 p.m. today against the Angels in Peoria.
