HOLY WEEK, PASSOVER SERVICES SET
Faith communities across North County will be observing Holy Week and Passover with outdoor, indoor, drive-in and virtual services, following COVID-19 safety protocols. Passover began Saturday evening and ends April 4. Holy Week begins today with Palm Sunday and includes Maundy Thursday on April 1 and Good Friday on April 2, leading up to Easter on April 4. Here are some services offered through local faith communities. Many churches require reservations to make sure they do not exceed the capacity limits for social distancing due to the pandemic, so be sure to sign up ahead of time.
CARLSBAD
Chabad at Lacosta — 1st Day of Passover morning services at 10 a.m. today, 2nd Day of Passover morning services at 10 a.m. Monday, Seventh Day of Passover morning services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Final Day of Passover morning services at 10 a.m. April 4, Yizkor memorial service at 11 a.m. April 4 at 1980 La Costa Ave. Services are indoors and outdoors. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints — Livestreaming of the General Conference from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Easter Sunday, with speakers and choirs delivering messages of hope and renewal in Christ. Redeemer by the Sea Lutheran Church — Maundy Thursday at 6:30 p.m. online only at rbts.online.church; Good Friday at 6:30 p.m. online and on campus, 6600 Black Rail Road. San Diego Outreach Synagogue — 2nd Night Passover Seder at 6 p.m. today via Zoom. The “30-Minute Seder” led by Rabbi-cantor Cheri Weiss is open to the community; all ages are welcome.
