SAN DIEGO — Mom loved the St. Patrick’s Day dance at the church. We rejoice that on March 17, 2021 she died peacefully in her sleep to join our Dad at the dance in Heaven.

Charlotte was born on Oct 27, 1926 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Charles Fischer and Marie Cook. She married Robert Watson on Jan 12, 1952 and was married 66 years until Bob died on Dec. 3, 2018. They had two daughters Ann (Ron) Alpert of Escondido CA, and Karen (Richard) Herman of Melbourne FL. She and Dad had four grandchildren, Anthony Herman of Orlando FL, Jenivieve (Chad) Prezas of Melbourne FL, Sydney Alpert of Escondido CA and Max Alpert who is in Naval training in IL. They also had one greatgrandchild, Isabella Prezas of Melbourne FL. Mom and Dad moved to San Diego in 1959 where Dad worked and retired from General Dynamics. Mom fulfilled her life’s goal of doing a great job raising her family. She drove us to ballet, piano, taught us to sew, to cook a great meal, to appreciate the arts, music and to stand up for ourselves.

Mom took an active part in her community through frequent calls with local politicians. She particularly enjoyed walks at the beach with Dad, finding bargains, church dances, birthday lunches with the ladies, and being with her children and grandchildren. She was a master of organization and a whirlwind of energy. She and Dad were active members of St. Columba Parish and founding members of St. Columba Catholic School.

Mom had a long, full and happy life. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother whose boundless love for all of us will be cherished forever.

Due to Covid restrictions, the family will hold a private funeral.
