EAST COUNTY HAPPENINGS Holiday Craft Fair seeks crafters
Taste of Santee opens Thursday
The Santee Chamber of Commerce hosts the 33rd annual “Taste of Santee” from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Pathways Community Church, 9626 Carlton Hills Blvd. Food and beverage offerings from local restaurants and shops. This tradition brings the community together to help Santee businesses give back to residents in need. Tickets are $15 for chamber members, $20 nonmembers. Register at https://bit.ly/30vkbul.
Lakeside Christmas event is Saturday
The Lakeside Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Spirit of Christmas event from 3:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday on Maine Avenue in historic downtown Lakeside. This free community event is supported by the Barona Band of Mission Indians, Barona Resort & Casino, and Skyline Church. The evening will feature live performances from the Lakeside Union School District, a tree lighting and children’s activities. Youngsters can drop off letters to Santa in the special North Pole mailbox (enclose a self-addressed stamped return envelope). ‘Holiday in the Village’ set for Saturday The La Mesa Village Association hosts its sixth annual “Holiday in the Village” from
noon-9 p.m. Saturday on La Mesa Boulevard, between Spring and Fourth streets. Carnival games, carolers, craft vendor stands and food and drinks from local favorites. The Mt. Miguel High School Foundation is looking for crafters for its Holiday Craft Fair, scheduled to take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 18 at 8585 Blossom Lane, Spring Valley. Funds raised from the craft sale help the foundation support school activities and scholarships. La Mesa holds disposal event Saturday
La Mesa hosts a free household hazardous waste disposal for residents by appointment only from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Household hazardous waste includes all batteries, fluorescent bulbs, electronics, paints, solvents, cleaners, chemicals, used motor oil and antifreeze, medical sharps (syringes), pool and garden products, and propane.
