Dec. 19 TEMECULA Sunday Funday at Vail HQ

Through Dec. 19 LAKE ELSINORE Winter Lights Kingdom

The Winter Lights Kingdom event, a drive-thru holiday lights spectacula­r, will be held Dec. 8 through Dec. 19 at the Lake Elsinore Storm stadium, 500 Diamond Drive. The event includes lights, projectors, life-size sculptures and letters to Santa. A daylight experience is available from noon to 4 p.m. and a night experience is from 5 p.m. to midnight. Dec. 21 TEMECULA Blood drive

The San Diego Blood Bank will hold a blood drive hosted by the Promenade Temecula mall from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the mall, 40820 Winchester Road, in front of the Edwards Theatre. Donors will receive a voucher for a free entree (up to $14) courtesy of the Broken Yolk. Donors must be 17 or older, weigh at least 114 pounds, and be in good health. Dec. 25 TEMECULA Community dinner

Local Rotary clubs and the city of Temecula will host a free community Christmas dinner for the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Christmas Day. A dinner of ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables and dessert will be served at the Mary Phillips Senior Center, 451845 Sixth St. To volunteer, call Julie Ngo at (619) 246-0489. Dec. 31 TEMECULA New Year’s Eve Grape Drop

Ring in the new year at the city of Temecula’s infamous Grape Drop. The event, from 6 p.m. Dec. 31 to 12:30 a.m. Jan. 1, will include live music, food vendors, children’s activities and a fun zone. Guests can count down to the new year twice — at 9 p.m. to mark the arrival on the East Coast and at midnight to mark arrival on the West Coast. Festivitie­s will be held at the Temecula Civic Center, 41000 Main St.

Through Jan. 2 TEMECULA Temecula on Ice

The Temecula on Ice skating rink at Town Square Park is open for skating through Jan. 2. Admission costs $18 with skate rental and $13 without skate rental; Bobby the Seal skate aids can be rented for $8. The rink will be open 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Christmas Day skating will be from noon to 9 p.m. New Year’s Eve skate session will be from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and will cost $25, including skate rental.
