COVID tests, vaccines at Chula Vista City Hall
COVID-19 testing is available from 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed holidays), at Chula Vista City Hall, 276 Fourth Ave., staffed by the city fire department. Appointments are required; visit https://lhi.care/covidtesting. Also, a testing site run by the county is open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at the Oleander Community Center, 1301 Oleander Ave. Appointments are recommended, but walkins can be taken until the daily maximum testing capacity is reached. Testing is free. Test as often as needed to make sure you and others around you are safe. The city is also offering COVID-19 vaccines and boosters at the same site, Building C: first and second shot and booster of the Moderna vaccine from 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays, and first and second, booster and pediatric Pfizer vaccines from 1-4 p.m. Thursdays. Bring your ID and vaccination card (if you have one.) Visit https://myturn.ca.gov to make an appointment at this or other county locations.
Holiday event also offering vaccines
Mid-city CAN (Community Advocacy Network) is partnering with the Sherman Heights Community Center to host a Snowy Wonderland and Family Vaccine event from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. today at the Sherman Heights Park & Community Center, 2258 Island Ave., San Diego. Enjoy real snow, festive music, gingerbread houses, arts and crafts and more. While enjoying a holiday celebration, families can be vaccinated against COVID-19 or the flu. No formal documentation is required; however, a photo ID can speed up the check-in. Spanish translators will be available. Walk-up appointments will be served, but families can create an appointment at https://www.midcitycan.org/snow.
Musical ‘Winter Wonderland’ offered this week
Teatro San Diego presents two performances of its inaugural holiday cabaret, “A Musical Winter Wonderland,” this week. At 7 p.m. Tuesday, the show will be at Onstage Playhouse, 291 Third Ave., Chula Vista. And at 7 p.m. Wednesday, the show will be at Diversionary Theatre, 4545 Park Blvd., San Diego. Admission is $20 and tickets are available at www.teatrosandiego.org.
