Looking for Chargers QB-WR duo to lead way vs. Texans

-

Devising the perfect Daily Fantasy Sports strategy for the NFL can be a challenge, which is why I’m here to assist.

On Draftkings, it’s important to remember you’re playing full-point PPR with bonuses if a player surpasses 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards or 100 receiving yards.

Here is my optimal lineup for today’s $3 million Fantasy Football Millionaire contest, but can be utilized as a foundation in other games and platforms.

All prices listed are courtesy of Draftkings with a $50,000 budget.

These lineups have netted $285, so that leaves me $15 in the hole.

QB: Justin Herbert, Chargers ($7,200)

It’s easier to beat the Texans with the run than the pass, but Los Angeles is a pass-heavy team regardless of game script, dropping back to pass 10 percent more than the NFL average when it has the lead. Herbert has yet to throw fewer than 31 times this season, and that was in a 37-21 thrashing of the Giants.

RB: Najee Harris, Steelers ($7,400)

Harris is one of the few true bell-cow running backs and he’s likely to be underowned after flopping last week against the Titans. The Chiefs are 31st in the NFL giving up 1.7 rushing yards before contact per attempt and are allowing 4.6 yards per carry (28th in the league).

RB: James Robinson, Jaguars ($5,900)

The 88 total yards and touchdown on 21 touches Robinson produced against the Texans last week is the floor of what I expect him to do against the Jets, who have allowed 21 touchdowns to running backs in 14 games this season.

WR: Keenan Allen, Chargers ($7,700)

Austin Ekeler’s absence should open up even more opportunities underneath for Allen. The WR4 in PPR formats since Week 8 has already received double-digit targets in six of the last seven games.

WR: DK Metcalf, Seahawks ($6,400)

It’s only a matter of time before Metcalf explodes. He has at least eight targets in five of the last six games, but hasn’t scored since Week 8. A snowy day in Seattle will make it even harder for a depleted Bears secondary to track the physical freak.

WR: Antonio Brown, Buccaneers ($4,900)

Brown is inexplicably below $5,000 on Draftkings with both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin sidelined against the Panthers. Any concerns I have about rust (he hasn’t played since Week 6) are put aside at this price. He averaged 20.3 points on the platform before his injury, while competing with Evans and Godwin for targets.

TE: Noah Fant, Broncos ($4,400)

The Raiders have allowed a touchdown to tight ends in 10 of the last 11 games.

FLEX: Braxton Berrios, Jets ($3,500)

No Elijah Moore, Corey Davis or Jamison Crowder and the Jaguars are very beatable through the air, allowing seven touchdowns to wide receivers in the last five games.

DST: Atlanta Falcons ($2,600)

Tim Boyle or David Blough will start for the Lions after Jared Goff tested positive for COVID-19.
