IN-PERSON SOCIAL MEDIA FROM PSAR
The Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors (PSAR) will host a free in-person workshop on social media strategies from marketing consultant Steve Black from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 12, at PSAR’S Chula Vista Service Center, 880 Canarios Court, Chula Vista. Black, a nationally known speaker who has appeared on CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox, will discuss how social media, including Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and blogging, can generate listings and find qualified buyers. He also will discuss effective meeting techniques over the Zoom video-conferencing platform, maintaining focus while working at home and results-oriented, video marketing secrets, as well as sales and communication skills. NOVEMBER HOME SALES LOWER
The Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors (PSAR) reports home sales in San Diego County were lower in November 2021 in month-over-month and yearover-year comparisons. Citing statistics from the California Association of Realtors, PSAR said San Diego home sales in November 2021 declined 6.1 percent compared to October 2021, and 6.6 percent lower than November 2020. Statewide, November’s sales pace rose 4.7 percent on a monthly basis from October and decreased 10.7 percent from a year ago in November 2020. California closed escrow sales of existing, single-family detached homes in November 2021 totaled 454,450 on a seasonally adjusted annualized rate, compared to 434,170 in October 2021, and 508,820 in November 2020. Statewide home sales maintained a 10.6 percent increase in a year-over-year basis.
TRAIN ON PURCHASE AGREEMENT IN LIVE COURSES AT SDAR
For the first time since 2014, the California Association of Realtors has issued a complete makeover of the standard Residential Purchase Agreement (RPA), the standard form used in the overwhelming majority of California home sales. The form was recently released, so get detailed instructions on how to properly complete and use the RPA from an expert. Join contract experts from the Greater San Diego Association of Realtors (SDAR) for a live classroom course to get well-versed with the principles and applications of the form. The class is Tuesday, December 28 at 1:00 p.m. at SDAR’S Kearny Mesa main office. SDAR is also offering webinars to train on the RPA on December 27 and 28 at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. both days. HIGHER BY $100K IN 1 YEAR
The Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors (PSAR) reports the median sales price for an existing, single-family detached home in San Diego County was $847,750 in November 2021, a 0.3 percent decrease compared to $850,000 in October 2021. The November median price was 14.6 percent higher than a year ago at $740,000 in November 2020, roughly a $100,000 increase in one year. Statewide, the median home price dipped below the $800,000 benchmark for the second straight month in November 2021 to $782,480, a 2 percent drop from $798,440 in October 2021. The statewide November 2021 median price was 11.9 percent higher than $698,980 recorded in November 2020. The 2 percent price compared to 0.1 percent average recorded between Octobers and Novembers in the past 42 years.
