Cars and Coffee Coronado

Cars and Coffee Coronado brings car enthusiast­s together from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the fourth Sunday of each month at Vetter Park in Coronado. The next event is Sunday, Jan. 28.

The event highlights a diverse array of vehicles, ranging from classic cars to modern exotics. The informal setting fosters camaraderi­e and a shared appreciati­on for automotive craftsmans­hip.

San Diego Cat Show

The San Diego Cat Show, billed as the largest cat show in the western United States, is taking place Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 28, at the Del Mar Fairground­s, 2260 Jimmy Durante Boulevard.

The competitio­n is organized by San Diego Cat Fanciers, a nonprofit devoted to the welfare of cats. It will feature up to 450 kittens and cats, including 43 breeds, judged in four classes, with 38 “best in show” finals, an agility course, onsite adoptions and more.

Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. Tickets are on sale at the door.

Monster Jam San Diego

Monster Jam San Diego returns to Snapdragon Stadium this Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 28, featuring world champion athletes and their 12,000-pound monster trucks tearing up the dirt in wide-open competitio­ns of speed and skill.

The fun begins at the Monster Jam Pit Party fan experience held Saturday and Sunday prior to the event. Fans can see the massive trucks up close, meet their favorite drivers and crews, get autographs, and take pictures.

Ryan Hamilton at The Magnolia

Comedian Ryan Hamilton will perform Saturday at The Magnolia in El Cajon. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Hamilton recently released his first stand-up special, “Happy Face,” a one-hour Netflix original that highlights his selfdeprec­ating humor and observatio­nal insights. Recent appearance­s include “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, “Late Show,” with Stephen Colbert and opening spots for Jerry Seinfeld.

Pianist Tony Siqi Yun in concert

The La Jolla Music Society will present pianist Tony Siqi Yun in concert at 3 p.m. today in the Baker-baum Concert Hall. The musical prelude begins at 2 p.m., featuring students from The Coburn School.

The Canadian-born Yun won first prize and a gold medal at the inaugural China Internatio­nal Music Competitio­n in 2019.

He recently made his debut with the Philadelph­ia Orchestra and has also performed recently with the Cleveland Orchestra, Toronto and Orchestre Métropolit­ain in Montreal and the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris.
