Custom jewelry studio offers eclectic designs
Crevette Design Studio’s mission is creating one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces full of whimsical charm.
Victoria Schulte and Charlotte Zappulla launched the studio at 320 West Cedar Street in Little Italy after working together for five years at another jewelry store. (Schulte also owns Fingers Crossed, a brand of stylish notebooks.)
Crevette (pronounced “krah-vet”) is a French term of endearment meaning “little one,” or “shrimp” in English.
The company specializes in custom fine jewelry with rare and eye-catching designs. Each piece is made with 14karat gold or above.
The Flow collection includes pieces made with antique diamonds, sapphire and tourmaline. Schulte and Zappulla said the designs are inspired by the exploration of life, with wavy, nonlinear elements that speak to the spontaneity of life.
A new collection will be released in the spring that features pieces with a lot of movement and a summer feel.
“(We’re) just really trying to bring a sense of playfulness to jewelry ..., (creating) pieces that you haven’t seen before or that you don’t see all of the time,” said Zappulla.
Zapulla and Schulte said they work with clients to create dream wedding bands, statement pieces, stacking

rings, necklaces, earrings and other accessories.
The pair also rework family heirlooms or vintage pieces to give them a fresh, new look and meaning. Any metal or gemstones not used in the new design go back to the client.
Complimentary appraisals are offered for pieces with over $5,000 retail value and custom consultations can be booked online or in person.
The studio will also host an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 17 with snacks and beverages.
