WYOMING OUTLASTS RANKED CSU IN OT

Mason Walters scored at the buzzer to force overtime and Akuel Kot completed a four-point play in the final minute of the extra period, leading Wyoming to a 79-76 win over No. 24 Colorado State on Saturday night.

Wyoming 79, Colorado State 76 (OT)

Sam Griffin scored 24 points to lead the host Cowboys (11-9, 4-3 Mountain West), who trailed by 11 points with 1:11 remaining in regulation.

Isaiah Stevens finished with 17 points and nine assists, Patrick Cartier added 19 points and Nique Clifford added 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead Colorado State (15-5, 3-4).

“Well, I’m not sure what to say. Speechless. I’m not sure what happened,” Wyoming head coach Jeff Linder said. “Looking up in the stands when you’re down 11 with 1:11 left, which I can’t blame the people for starting to turn and leave. Obviously, they missed probably the most special ending in the Border War rivalry.”

Wyoming, which failed to hit a field goal over an eightminut­e span, rallied late and cut its deficit to 65-63. Walters missed the second of two free throws and the rebound went out of bounds off Colorado State’s Josiah Strong with 1.8 seconds left. Walters scored in the paint at the buzzer to force OT.

With Wyoming trailing 7472, Kot hit a 3-pointer while being fouled and completed the four-point play to give the Cowboys a 76-74 lead with 27.5 seconds remaining in overtime.

UCLA 65, USC 50: Dylan Andrews scored 20 points, including 12 points during the pivotal first half, Lazar Stefanovic added 17 and UCLA defeated USC in a meeting of crosstown rivals having disappoint­ing seasons.

The Bruins (9-11, 4-5 Pac-12) won for the first time on USC’S home court since 2018 to snap a five-game losing streak.

Oziyah Sellers had 10 points off the bench for USC (8-12, 2-7), which has lost five straight for the first time since 2015.

Washington State 78, Colorado 69: Jaylen Wells and Isaac Jones each recorded double-doubles and host Washington State withstood repeated Colorado runs to end the Buffaloes’ four-game win streak.

Wells scored 17 points and pulled 10 rebounds and Jones scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Washington State (15-6, 6-4 Pac-12).

KJ Simpson scored a game-high 25 points on 7for-11 shooting for Colorado (15-6, 6-4).

Oregon State 84, Arizona State 71: Jordan Pope had 19 points as Oregon State (11-9, 3-6 Pac-12) rolled over visiting Arizona State.

Jose Perez scored 19 to lead the Sun Devils (11-9, 5-4).

Fresno State 84, Air Force 70: Enoch Boakye’s 19 points led host Fresno State to victory over Air Force. Boakye also contribute­d 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (911, 2-5 Mountain West).

Beau Becker finished with 22 points and two steals for the Falcons (8-11, 1-6).

UC San Diego 92, UC Davis 59: Bryce Pope’s 29 points led UC San Diego to its third straight win as the Tritons rolled past host UC Davis, snapping the Aggies’ four-game winning streak.

Pope also had five rebounds for the Tritons (14-7, 8-1 Big West). Tyler Mcghie scored 18 points while shooting 6-for-14 from the field, including 6 of 11 3-pointers.

Ty Johnson led the way for the Aggies (12-8, 7-2) with 22 points.

San Diego 69, Pepperdine 67: Steven Jamerson II scored 20 points and Wayne Mckinney III hit the game-winning jump shot with 0.9 seconds left to give the Toreros a road win.

Jamerson added 12 rebounds for the Toreros (12-10, 2-5 West Coast). Michael Ajayi led the Waves (9-14, 2-6) with 19 points.

Friday’s late result

Cal 73, Stanford 71: Jalen Celestine hit three free throws in the final minute to lift California (9-12, 4-5 Pac-12) to a home win over rival Stanford (10-9, 5-4).
