Festivls and fairs
El Batallón de San Patricio, a piece of history not known to many in which Irish immigrants — Los San Patricios — fought alongside the Mexican Army during the Mexican-american War (1846-1848), will be celebrated this weekend in Barrio Logan. As members of the U.S. Army who were considered second-class citizens because of their Catholic-immigrant status, Los San Patricios joined with the Mexican Army to support their cause for sovereignty and independence. The celebration will feature live music, artwork, dancing, food, craft beer, spirits and more. Batallón en El Barrio: 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Side Yard Barrio Logan, 1733 National Ave., San Diego.
