ENCANTO

Two men were injured in a driveby shooting Monday night in Encanto, with one victim shot four times in the stomach, police said.

Police said the two men were standing outside a home on Klauber Avenue near Attix Street, west of 69th Street, around 10:10 p.m. when a white or black BMW driven by a woman pulled up and a man in the front passenger seat opened fire.

A 25-year-old man was shot in the stomach four times while a 28year-old man was shot in the buttocks and leg, said San Diego police Officer John Buttle. Seven casings were found at the scene.

Family members were starting to take the victims to hospitals when they were stopped by police so paramedics could transport both men. Both were reported in stable condition a little after midnight Tuesday, Buttle said.

One of the victims was undergoing emergency surgery, he said.

No other information was immediately available.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call San Diego Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
