Next four USD games postponed for COVID reasons.

-

USD will have to wait a little longer before resuming the men’s basketball season. After postponing their home game last Saturday against BYU, the Toreros announced Tuesday night that their next four games also will be postponed because of COVID-19 concerns.

USD Executive Director of Athletics Bill McGillis said the team is in quarantine and expects to return to practice Jan. 15. The team paused its program for the third time on Jan. 1.

The first pause lasted 14 days. The second pause lasted one day and resulted in a game at Arizona being canceled.

USD (1-4) was scheduled to play host to Saint Mary’s on Thursday, followed by a road game Saturday against Pacific. The two next games were against LMU on the road and at home vs. Santa Clara.

None of the games have been rescheduled. “The rescheduling of these games will be like solving a Rubik’s cube,” said McGillis. “That’s what’s ahead.”
