USD MEN’S TEAM RESCHEDULES THREE GAMES

-

USD men’s basketball has announced new dates for three games that were postponed earlier this month.

USD will host Santa Clara on Sunday in the Jenny Craig Pavilion with a 2 p.m. tipoff. The Toreros will then travel to Loyola Marymount on Tuesday, Jan. 19 for a 6 p.m. contest.

San Diego is set to travel to Pacific on Thursday, Feb. 11 with a tipoff time of noon.

The Toreros are still working with the West Coast Conference and opponents to reschedule home games against BYU and Saint

Mary’s for later this season.

USD is set to return to practice Friday after the Toreros paused team activities due to a positive COVID-19 test result within the program earlier this month. The last contest for the Toreros was Dec. 31.

Top 25

No. 25 Connecticut 60, DePaul 53: Tyrese Martin scored 18 points and visiting UConn (7-1, 4-1 Big East) beat DePaul (1-4, 0-4).

The Huskies cracked the Top 25 for the first time since they were ranked 18th in the 2016-17 preseason poll, then got all they could handle from a struggling DePaul squad before pulling out their fourth straight win.

Connecticut scored the final eight points despite some shaky free throw shooting down the stretch, and improved to 12-1 against the Blue Demons.

West

Colorado 65, Utah 58: D’Shawn Schwartz had 15 points and 15 rebounds, McKinley Wright IV tied Colorado’s career assists record and the Buffaloes (9-3, 3-2 Pac-12) rallied from a 10point halftime deficit to beat host Utah (4-5, 1-4).

Wright had nine points and four assists, tying Jay Humphries as CU’s all-time assists leader with 562.

Boise State 83, Wyoming 60: Abu Kigab had 21 points and five blocked shots to help Boise State (11-1, 7-0) pull away from Wyoming (7-3, 1-2) and stay undefeated in the Mountain West.

Notable

Arizona junior guard Jemarl Baker Jr. will miss the remainder of the season with a broken wrist. The 6-foot-5 guard was Arizona’s secondleading scorer at 12.0 points per game in his second season since transferring from Kentucky.
