As a result, Montreal had four games postponed — three with Edmonton and another against Ottawa.

Blue Jackets 3, Lightning 1: David Savard scored his first goal in two years, and Columbus won at Tampa Bay. Elvis Merzlikins stopped 37 shots, helping the Blue Jackets snap a four-game winless streak. Oliver Bjorkstrand and Cam Atkinson also scored for Columbus.

Monday’s late results

Sharks 4, Wild 3 (SO): Erik Karlsson scored twice in regulation and then added the deciding goal in the eighth round of the shootout to lead host San Jose past Minnesota.

Notable

The Flyers placed defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere on waivers on Tuesday, a surprising move that comes as Philadelphia is attempting to stay in the playoff hunt. Gostisbehere has five goals and six assists for 11 points in 25 games, and he was benched for a three-game stretch two weeks ago. He produced three assists in five games since returning to action.
