MONDAY’S RESULTS

-

Marlins 5, Braves 3 (10): Garrett Cooper had three RBIs and drove in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning off Jacob Webb, lifting visiting Miami to a victory over Atlanta. The 10th began with placement runner Jon Berti advancing from second to third when Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies ran backward to try to catch Starling Marte’s shallow fly, but had the ball bounce off his glove for a single.

Brewers 6, Cubs 3: Pinch-hitter Luis Urias drove in three runs with a go-ahead double and host Milwaukee scored six times in the sixth inning to beat Chicago. Freddy Peralta (2-0) struck out 10 over six innings of two-hit ball for the victory. Milwaukee has won five of six, while the Cubs lost for the fifth time in six games. Nationals 5, Cardinals 2: Kyle Schwarber doubled in a run in his delayed Nationals debut, Andrew Stevenson had a pinch-hit homer and Washington beat host St. Louis. Schwarber, Josh Bell and Josh Harrison were in the starting lineup after being sidelined for Washington’s first six games by a coronavirus outbreak that prompted the postponement of the team’s season-opening series and left the club short-handed. The Nats ended a fivegame skid, while the Cardinals have lost three straight. Stevenson hit his first homer of the season into St. Louis’ bullpen in right field to lead off the seventh.

Joey Votto splashed a home run into McCovey Cove beyond the right-field arcade, Jesse Winker hit a two-run homer and Cincinnati beat San Francisco.

Will be made up as a doubleheader today.
