Tijuana’s medical community is recognized for its quality of service and infrastructure as well as its range of specialties, but for many, the main draw is the pricing. Medical services are usually between 30 and 60 percent less than in the United States.

With its close proximity to the U.S. border, Tijuana is known as Mexico’s capital of medical tourism. In 2019 alone, more than 2 million patients visited Tijuana specifically for dental, bariatric and plastic surgery services.

The need for affordable medical care is more important than ever, and Tijuana’s facilities are not only affordable, but also offer safety and quality.

Through the MedBaja network, patients will find numerous excellent medical services in one place at great prices. MedBaja specialists offer:

• Dental care

• Plastic surgery

• Bariatric surgery

• Fertility

• And general medical practices Connect with MedBaja via a U.S. phone number: (619) 391-9290.

With one easy call, MedBaja helps connects patients with doctors, scheduling appointments with a specialist who has been recognized for their health and safety procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

These doctors are part of the “Health and Wellness Tourism 2020-2021” campaign, which will place 35 billboards around Tijuana promoting care in the face of the pandemic and will also make safe clinics visible.

“This campaign of putting up billboards in the city is also a recognition of these doctors...The certificate we are giving them is this seal, as a guarantee, so that when people go to a clinic or a business they identify that it is a place that has been verified through the Ministry of Health and by the Ministry of Sustainable Economy and Tourism,” explained the undersecretary of SEST Ivette Casillas.

To further facilitate travel from the U.S., Tijuana medical facilities offer medical Fast Passes for use of the Fast Pass Lane across the border. Currently, due to COVID-19, the Fast Crossing lane at the Tijuana border is in open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Many clinics also provide transportation service from the border to the facility and back.
