Going headto-head with section pole vault recordholder Ashley Callahan, the junior soared over 13 feet, 7 inches, breaking the previous best of 13-6 by Callahan in 2019 and Westview’s Kortney Ross in 2010.

Torrey Pines Boys Golf
A freshman, Leng scored a four-shot win in the 36-hole boys 15-18 Tiffany Joh Junior Championship at the Pala Mesa Resort. He had six birdies and an eagle during a final-round 67 en route to a 7-under 137.

Grabbing 10 passes for a school-record 273 yards, including touchdowns of 31 and 52 yards, the junior led the Foothillers to a season-ending 37-22 victory over previously unbeaten Santa Fe Christian.
Kayanna Springs Mater Dei Catholic Girls Basketball
A 6-foot-3 senior post player, Springs averaged a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds including a 28-point, 19-rebound game in a win over top 10 Bishop’s. The Crusaders posted a 4-0 record.

In addition to throwing six shutout innings against Clairemont, the Torreys senior went 5-for-8 with two homers and a pair of doubles, driving in eight runs. On the season he is batting .344 with 20 RBIs.

Headed to Penn, Sayin made his last high school football game a big one by completing 13 of 16 passes for 285 yards and five touchdowns in a 63-14 victory over Granite Hills in a battle of ranked teams.
