Lightning 6, Sabres 1: Nikita Kucherov scored a hat trick, Steven Stamokos had a goal and two assists, and Tampa Bay beat host Buffalo. Anthony Cirelli had a goal and an assist, Ondrej Palat extended his scoring streak to four games, and Andrei Vasilevski­y made 17 saves for his 20th win of the season. Vinnie Hinostroza scored for the Sabres, who have lost seven in a row at home.

Blackhawks 4, Blue Jackets 2: Alex DeBrincat scored twice and Calvin de Haan got his first goal in nearly a year to lift Chicago to its second straight road win. Connor Murphy also scored for Chicago, and Marc-Andre Fleury made 24 saves for his 11th win. Columbus has dropped four of five and lost at home to the Blackhawks for the seventh consecutiv­e time.

Panthers 5, Canucks 2: Sam Reinhart had two goals and an assist and host Florida handed Vancouver coach Bruce Boudreau his first regulation loss in 10 games. Boudreau was 8-0-1 since taking over the Canucks on Dec. 6. Vancouver was 8-15-2 when he replaced Travis Green. Aleksander Barkov scored his team-leading 15th goal and also had an assist for Florida.

Predators 5, Avalanche 4 (OT): Matt Duchene scored two goals, including the game-winner on a power play 3:01 into overtime, and Nashville beat visiting Colorado. Luke Kunin also scored twice, Tanner Jeannot added a goal and Juuse Saros made 40 saves to help Nashville win its fifth straight. Cale Makar had a goal and two assists for Colorado, which had won five in a row.

Penguins 4, Ducks 1: Evgeni Malkin and Jeff Carter each scored a pair of goals as Pittsburgh led the entire way against host Anaheim. Jakob Silfverber­g scored the lone goal for the Ducks in the second period.

The Boston Bruins signed Tuukka Rask for the rest of the season, bringing back the winningest goalie in franchise history after he recovered from offseason hip surgery. General Manager Don Sweeney said Rask will back up Linus Ullmark for tonight’s game against Montreal, with 23-year-old rookie Jeremy Swayman headed to Providence of the AHL.

The Washington Capitals sent goaltender Zach Fucale back to Hershey of the American Hockey League after he struggled in his third career start Monday night against Boston.
