‘DON BARTLETTI: ELUSIVE MOMENTS-ENDURING STORIES’
The Oceanside Museum of Art presents an exhibition that celebrates the work of Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Don Bartletti. Throughout his 40-year career, Bartletti captured moments all over the world — from intimate portraits to images that reflect history. “My approach to photojournalism lies somewhere between cultural anthropology and a scavenger hunt,” he said in a statement. Photos from “Elusive Moments-Enduring Stories” include children in Chiapas riding a horse, a fire in Yosemite, a military family preparing to separate and a surfer tackling a giant wave. The exhibition opens Saturday, and an opening celebration is scheduled for Feb. 12. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays; noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. On view through May 1. Oceanside Museum of Art, 704 Pier View Way, Oceanside. $10 general admission; $5 seniors; free for children, students and military. oma-online.org
