Torrey Pines, the Coastal North County League champions, lost in the San Diego Section Open Division semifinals. The Falcons have scored two runs in the regionals, but have 1-0 wins over No. 7 Palos Verdes and No. 6 Rancho Bernardo. Left-hander Dougie Jutronich figures to get the start with right-hander Grayson Bonanno, Tuesday’s starter, in relief. Etiwanda, the Southern Section Division II champion, has won 10 in a row, including 6-1 over Pasadena Maranatha and 12-1 over Lake Balboa Birmingham in the regionals. The Eagles are led by Long Beach State commit Armando Briseno, who is hitting .378, and LSU commit Austen Roellig, who is hitting .446. Freshman Brady Ebel, son of Los Angeles Dodgers coach Dino Ebel, figures to get the start. He’s 6-0 with a 0.32 ERA.

Outlook: Mater Dei Catholic, the San Diego Section Division I champions, has won 8 games in a row, including 5-3 over No. 2 Del Norte and 2-0 in 10 innings over Tesoro. The Crusaders are led by Ayanna Shaw, who is hitting .510 with 44 RBIs; Michelle Cervantes, who is hitting .362 with 33 RBIs; Michaella Salvatierra, who is hitting .386, and Amy Jones, who is hitting .416. The top pitchers are freshman Analesse Garcia, who is 12-5, and senior Isabella Valdez, who is 7-4. Torrance lost in the Southern Section Division II semifinals. The Tartars beat No. 8 Cathedral Catholic 15-10 and No. 4 Bonita 3-2 in the regionals. The game was moved to noon to accommodate Torrance, which has its prom tonight.
