Lightning 6, Ducks 1: Nick Paul scored the first of four Tampa Bay goals in a span of 5:55 in the second period, and Brayden Point scored his 200th NHL goal as the Lightning dealt Anaheim its sixth straight loss. Tampa Bay, which is the only team in the NHL averaging more than four goals per game at home, is 14-0-1 in its last 15 games at Amalie Arena.

Wild 2, Kings 1: Ryan Hartman scored twice and Filip Gustavsson made 33 saves as host Minnesota beat Los Angeles. Gustavsson, who started the day second in the NHL in goals-against average (2.16) and tied for second in save percentage (92.6 percent), won for the fourth time in five games as the Wild won their third straight. Anze Kopitar scored with 20.5 seconds remaining for the Kings in the opener of a four-game trip.

Blackhawks 3, Golden Knights 2 (SO): Tyler Johnson scored the lone goal in a shootout to give host Chicago its third straight victory. Johnson beat Laurent Brossoit with a low shot in the third round of the tiebreaker after scoring a power-play goal with 55 seconds left in regulation to for force overtime.

Oilers 4, Flyers 2: Connor McDavid had two goals and an assist to help host Edmonton defeat Philadelph­ia. Leon Draisaitl added a power play goal and two assists for the Oilers. Noah Cates and Owen Tippett scored for the Flyers.

Red Wings 3, Capitals 1: Pius Suter scored twice, Robert Hagg ended a 75-game goal drought and visiting Detroit stayed hot by beating Washington. The Red Wings won for the sixth time in seven games, moving ahead of the Capitals in the Eastern Conference wild-card race and taking another step to ending their six-year playoff drought. Washington lost a fifth in a row in regulation — its longest stretch without a point since January 2014, the last time the team missed the postseason.

Canadiens 5, Devils 2: Sam Montembeau­lt stopped three breakaways and made 37 saves as Montreal stunned the Devils, snapping New Jersey’s six-game home winning streak. Defenseman Johnathan Kovacevic and Nick Suzuki scored in a 1:13 span in the second period to put the Canadiens ahead.

Hurricanes 4, Blues 1: Andrei Svechnikov scored twice in the first eight minutes to break a 19-game goal drought and host Carolina beat St. Louis. Frederik Andersen stopped 35 shots for his fifth consecutiv­e victory.

Maple Leafs 6, Sabres 3: Newly acquired center Ryan O’Reilly scored twice on Toronto’s first two shots on net and added an empty-net goal in the Maple Leafs’ win at Buffalo.

Predators 5, Canucks 4 (SO): Matt Duchene scored the only goal in the shootout as host Nashville held off Vancouver. The Canucks tied it twice when trailing by two goals, the last with two goals about 50 seconds apart in the final 1:06 of regulation.
