BEASLEY, LAKERS ROLL PAST WARRIORS EASILY

Lakers 124, Warriors 111

-

Malik Beasley scored 25 points, Austin Reaves had 17 off the bench and the Los Angeles Lakers returned from the All-Star break to beat the Golden State Warriors 124-111 on Thursday night.

Beasley, who was acquired from Utah as part of a three-team trade during the Feb. 9 deadline, has two 20point games in his four starts for the Lakers. He got off to a quick start with eight of the Lakers’ first 10 points and then had eight points in the third quarter when they broke the game open.

Reeves made all six of his shots from the field and was 4 of 4 from the foul line. His big quarter was the third, when he scored 13 points.

The Lakers had eight players in double figures in what ended up being quiet nights for LeBron James and Anthony Davis. James — who suffered a hand injury during the All-Star game Sunday night — had 13 points, but was 5 of 20 from the floor, marking only the sixth time in his career he has shot 25 percent or worse when attempting at least 20 shots.

James also had nine rebounds and eight assists. Davis had 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Klay Thompson led Golden State with 22 points and Ty Jerome added 20. The defending NBA champions have dropped four of their last five and are 29-30.

Golden State got to 59-58 early in the third quarter on a jumper by Thompson before the Lakers went on a 21-7 run.

The Warriors countered by getting within eight before the Lakers broke it open again with a 26-6 spurt.

76ers 110, Grizzlies 105: Tobias Harris sank the goahead 3-pointer with 39 seconds left, James Harden scored 31 points, and Joel Embiid had 27 points and 19 rebounds to help host Philadelphia storm back and beat Memphis.

The 76ers shrugged off three of their worst quarters of the season to turn in a fantastic fourth that nearly shook the arena with each clutch bucket. Down by nine points late in the game, the Sixers took over. Harden buried a 3 to get the run rolling and Harris sank two free throws, then made a 3 that pulled Philly within 9998. Embiid, an offensive nonfactor most of the game, tied it at 100-all on a jumper.

Celtics 142, Pacers 138 (OT): Jayson Tatum scored 31 points, including the final four in the last minute of overtime, and Boston outlasted host Indiana.

Jaylen Brown added 30 points as the Celtics improved the NBA’s best record to 43-17.

It was 138-all with 56.2 seconds left before Tatum hit a pair of free throws. He capped the scoring with a tip-in off the glass with 10.4 seconds to go.

Jazz 120, Thunder 119 (OT):

Lauri Markkanen hit three free throws with 4.6 seconds left in overtime to give Utah the lead and finished with 43 points and 10 rebounds as the Jazz beat visiting Oklahoma City.

Markkanen scored 18 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Jazz rally from a nine-point deficit early in the period. Walker Kessler tipped in a layup with 4.6 seconds remaining to force overtime.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 39 points and missed a potential game-winning jumper at the overtime buzzer for the Thunder. He also had eight rebounds and seven assists.

Utah played without starting point guard Collin Sexton, who has a left hamstring injury.

Nuggets 115, Cavaliers 109: Nikola Jokic had 24 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists for his latest tripledouble and Michael Porter Jr. scored 25 points, leading visiting Denver to a victory.

Magic 108, Pistons 106: Wendell Carter Jr. tipped in Paolo Banchero’s missed layup at the buzzer to give host Orlando a victory over Detroit. Franz Wagner added 21 points, and Carter controlled the boards in the fourth quarter, finishing with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Raptors 115, Pelicans 110: Pascal Siakam scored 26 points, Jakob Poeltl had 21 points and a career-high 18 rebounds and host Toronto beat New Orleans for its sixth victory in seven games.

Mavericks 142, Spurs 116: Luka Doncic scored 28 points, Kyrie Irving added 23 and the All-Star pair won for the first time together in Dallas, leading a victory over woeful San Antonio.

Kings 133, Trail Blazers 116: De’Aaron Fox scored 31 points, Domantas Sabonis had his seventh triple-double of the season and host Sacramento beat shorthanded Portland.

The Trail Blazers were without Damian Lillard (rest), Jermani Grant (rest), Jusuf Nurkic (calf strain), Anfernee Simons (ankle sprain) and Justice Winslow (ankle sprain), who were all ruled out before the game.
