Robert Platt

Brawley | Boys wrestling

It took overtime, but the junior scored a 3-1 victory in sudden death to capture the state 195pound division at Merchants Bank Arena in Bakersfield. It was Brawley’s first boys state wrestling title.

Olivia Davis Monte Vista | Girls wrestling

Only a freshman, Davis showed a lot of grit to grab the third-place bronze medal at 137 pounds in the state championships in Bakersfield. She pinned her opponent in 2:44 to make the victory stand.

Andres Brambila

St. Augustine | Boys soccer The senior saw his low shot elude the goalie for the winner in a 1-0 victory over San Dieguito in the Open Division championship. He also had the golden goal in a 3-2 victory over San Pasqual in the semifinals.

Anya Van Den Einde

Westview | Girls soccer

The senior found the back of the net for a 1-0 victory over La Costa Canyon in the Open Division championship game. It was the fifth title for the Wolverines.

Jurian Dixon

St. Augustine | Boys basketball With 17 points — 12 on slam dunks — the senior helped the Saints defend their Open Division championship with an 85-53 triumph over Montgomery. It was the first time a team has defended its Open title.

Rayleen Moreno

Montgomery | Girls basketball A 5-foot-4 senior guard, Moreno scored 17 points, eight in a key third-quarter run, lifting the Aztecs past Granite Hills 57-40 in the Division III championship. It was the Aztecs’ first girls basketball title.

Colin Yarbrough

La Costa Canyon | Boys soccer Taking advantage of the game’s lone penalty kick off a foul in the box, the Mavericks senior out-guessed the goalie to help deliver a 1-0 victory over Steele Canyon in the section Division II championship.

Alexis Leath

West Hills | Girls soccer Scoring a pair of goals, the junior helped the seventhseeded Wolf Pack upset No. 1 Carlsbad 3-1 to capture the section Division I trophy and advance into the Southern California Regional playoffs.
