Bonita Vista lost to Mission Hills in the San Diego Section Open Division quarterfin­als, but was seeded No. 1 and rolled through the Southern California Division II Regionals, beating Lake Balboa Birmingham (63-49), La Cañada Flintridge Prep (93-61), Temecula Rancho Christian (70-69) and Los Angeles Leuzinger (80-67). This is the Barons’ first berth in the state title game. The Barons are led by Mahliya Wilson, who averages 18.9 points and 8.2 rebounds a game. Alyssa Alvarado averages 16.6 points and has made 106 3-pointers. Kaylin Buchanon-Lamb averages 14.2 points and 7.4 rebounds while Haydee Arancia-Hardwick checks in at 4.7 points but with 5.4 rebounds. … Central, which is also in its first state final, lost to Clovis Buchanan in the quarterfin­als of the CIF Central Section Division I playoffs and was seeded No. 4 in the Northern California Division II playoffs. But the Grizzlies rolled through Sacramento St. Francis (67-53), Hayward Moreau Catholic (69-51), Kentfield Marin Catholic (48-46) and Chico Pleasant Valley (62-51). Central is led by 6-foot center Talia Maxwell, who averages 23.1 points and 9.0 rebounds. Keytonnia Ross averages 10.8 points and 3.8 rebounds a game while Vivian Moore adds 6.4 points and Illicia Ross 5.6. The Grizzlies are an inside team, making just 33 3-pointers.

State rankings: Bonita Vista moved up to No. 21 while Central is ranked No. 50.

Neutral sites: Bonita Vista is 3-3 on neutral courts while Central is 10-4.

Common opponents: Both teams have played Clovis and Lake Balboa Birmingham. The Barons beat Clovis (46-45) and Birmingham (63-49). The Grizzlies lost twice to Clovis (51-46 and 63-60) and beat Birmingham (54-43).
