RAMS WILL DECIDE IF CB KENDRICK WILL PLAY

-

Los Angeles Rams cornerback Derion Kendrick hopes to play Sunday despite spending nearly three days in police custody this week after he was arrested and eventually charged with two gun offenses.

Kendrick returned to practice Friday with the Rams (3-3) after meeting with his teammates and coaches. The second-year pro said he “lost a couple of pounds” during his time in custody, which didn’t end until Wednesday.

“I got with the guys and apologized for anything that I may have distracted them on for this week,” Kendrick said. “We’ve got something we’re always focused on, and I feel like on my end, I slowed that down just a little bit . ... (But) I feel good. Strong mentally. Can’t let nothing like this really affect me, for real. Just keep my head up, keep pushing forward, and just trying to stay focused on what me and this team have got going on.”

Sean McVay said he hasn’t decided whether Kendrick, who has started every game this season, will suit up when Los Angeles hosts Pittsburgh (3-2). But after Kendrick returned to the team Thursday, the coach came away from their conversations convinced the troubled defensive back can stay on the right path by using his latest arrest “as a learning opportunity.”

NFL fines Seahawks’ Adams

The NFL fined Seahawks safety Jamal Adams $50,000 for comments directed toward a concussion doctor during last week’s game against Cincinnati, a person familiar with the league’s discipline told The Associated Press.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because neither side has announced the fine. The person said Adams also made physical conduct with an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant who was preparing to evaluate Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo for a potential concussion.

Replays showed Adams repeatedly shouting, “He good!” as the consultant and Bobo walked toward the medical tent for evaluation. However, those videos did not show any physical contact between Adams and the consultant.

Bengals safety Dax Hill hit Bobo hard at the end of a 20-yard reception, drawing a flag for unnecessary roughness. Bobo lined up for the next play before officials stopped the game so he could be evaluated. He was cleared and later returned to the game.

Watson expected to start

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is expected to start Sunday at Indianapolis after missing two games with a right shoulder injury.

Watson last played on Sept. 24, when he bruised his rotator cuff while being tackled on a running play against Tennessee. He missed Cleveland’s game on Oct. 1 against Baltimore, and sat out again — one week after the Browns’ bye — a week ago against San Francisco.

Coach Kevin Stefanski wouldn’t commit to Watson starting, but said he looked good in Friday’s practice and all signs are pointing to Cleveland getting back its No. 1 quarterback.
