March 23, 3 a.m., Vallejo

Matthew Muller breaks into Aaron Quinn’s Mare Island home and kidnaps Denise Huskins.

March 23, after 5 a.m. South Lake Tahoe Muller takes Huskins to his parents’ vacation home, where he allegedly rapes her.

March 23, 1:53 p.m., Vallejo

Quinn reports the kidnapping and is taken to the Vallejo Police Department, where he is interrogated for hours.

March 24, 12:24 p.m., San Francisco The Chronicle receives a “proof of life” message from the kidnapper that includes Huskins’ voice.

March 24, 8:30 p.m., Pleasant Hill Investigators track calls received by Quinn’s cell phone to a burner phone that had been bought at Target on March 2. Police later review store video allegedly showing Muller buying the phone, and trace the phone calls to Muller’s parents’ street in

South Lake Tahoe.

March 25, 9:48 a.m., Huntington Beach Huskins is released at her parents’ home.

March 25, 9:27 p.m., Vallejo Vallejo police call the kidnapping a hoax at a news conference.
