Deborah Gjerde Barile

Deborah Barile Gjerde died in her Minneapolis home on September 15, 2018 having lived a life full of love, family and travel. A wonderful mother and friend, Debbie was a lover of life. During the years of raising her family and teaching in San Francisco, she connected with children she taught and friends/ families that she met, forging relationships that lasted beyond the classroom. She had the ability to make everyone feel like family! Debbie was also very passionate about travel; her favorite place being Italy. She is preceded in death by her mother, Eloise Gjerde and her brother, Bruce Gjerde, as well as her beloved pugs Lulu and Tubby. Debbie is survived by daughters, Kierstin (Eric) Kropp and Tatum Barile (Bryan Bullock); son, Peter (Jon Wolles); grandchildren, Spencer and Gavin Kropp. She is also survived by her father, brother and 2 sisters. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Allina Hospice Foundation.
